Muhammad Hamas Ashraf is a researcher and teacher by profession. He teaches Biology and A-Level Politics, as well as specialised topics such as Atheism, Scientism, Liberalism, Feminism, and so on.
He has completed his BS (Hons.) degree in Biotechnology from Forman Christian College, Lahore, and is also pursuing a PhD in Philosophy from GCAS College, Dublin, Ireland. He has also acquired a Master’s in Philosophy (M.Phil) in the field of Genomics and Biotechnology. During his stay at FCC, he also studied Philosophy under the mentorship of Prof. Myron M. Miller, Psychology from Dr. S. Samuel, and “Research Philosophy & Methods” from Dr. Ikram Saeed at AUP.
Additionally, he has completed a number of certifications and diplomas in fields, such as “Evolutionary Biology” from the University of Cambridge, UK; “Feminism and Social Justice” from the University of California, Santa Cruz; “Islam and Evolution” from Asia e University; “Science and Islam” from the University of Edinburgh; and more.
He is also an avid student of the Islamic Sciences and has been under the direct and indirect mentorship of many reputable scholars. He holds a number of ijazas for primer texts such as Lumma tul I’tiqad, Usool us Sunnah, Bidayat ul Aabid, etc., and also several certifications in Foundational Islamic Studies from the International Open University (IOU).
Hamas Ashraf currently serves as an instructor, researcher, trainer, counselor, and content creator at Youth Club Lahore. His journey with YC began as a volunteer in 2011, and he has contributed as the team lead for various short courses as well as Ilm Essentials. In addition, his contributions range from short fact-based animation videos to top-notch, knowledge-based series, including The Academic Discourse, The Thought Square Project, The Psychotherapy Series, The Doubt Series, The WOW Series, and others.
